Shakespeare in Schools
Reading, seeing or studying a Shakespeare play for the first time can be daunting! Whether it’s primary school students approaching Shakespeare’s work for the first time, or GCSE students tackling complex play texts, these accessible workshops offer young people a series of practical tools for understanding and enjoying Shakespeare’s work.
As an experienced workshop leader and trained classical actor I deliver engaging, thought-provoking and fun sessions for groups ranging from Key Stage 2, to GCSE, A-Level and beyond.
These workshops can be tailored to any of Shakespeare’s plays and any age group. They are flexible in length and class size. Workshops feature fun Shakespearean insults, a Shakespeare themed song and activities designed to gently encourage young people to get on their feet and have a go.
Each workshops covers using your voice, understanding narrative, text, character, focus and historical context. -
Creative Storytelling
Using fun drama-based techniques, music, object puppetry and imaginative storytelling, these workshops sessions are design to support young people as they grow language, communication and literacy skills.
Workshops can be designed with specific topics, stories or outcomes in mind and are suitable for children in school and community settings.
My creative storytelling workshops are enjoyable, high-energy sessions where young people are valued and encouraged to build and share creative ideas.
Whether we’re journeying through a forest, flying through the cosmos or creating brand new characters; young people will have fun, build confidence and grow their speaking and listening skills. -
Creative Community Workshops
I have extensive experience devising and facilitating creative workshops for community groups.
From creative writing and spoken word, to loop pedals, devised theatre, music and acting, my inclusive workshops can help people carve out time and space to find a creative voice, learn skills, grow in confidence or simply do something a little bit different!
I have delivered workshops in libraries, community centres, theatres and museums; both as one-off sessions and as regular sessions ,for participants wanting to take more time to build their skills. Co-creation is an integral part of my artistic practise and I am always keen to find new and creative ways of engaging audiences and participants.
